THE DEPOP JACKET

in collaboration with Innaya Rehman

PROBLEM:

The second hand e-commerce market has become oversaturated, resulting in Depop being forgotten or replaced. All the marketing messages revolve around making money and clearing closets, which prevents people from differentiating Depop to their competitors.

INSIGHT:

Gen Z and Millennials turn to second hand fashion to make a statement. They want unique as they’re looking for ways to build on their personal flair.

SOLUTION:

Illustrate how Depop is a home for self expression and endless style, through the use of a single denim jacket, passed through the community. The aim is to show how an item can evolve, gain value, and tell a completely different story, with every Depop user who adds to it, because everyone in their community is unique.
